In the shocking case of gangrape that has came to light, five accused have been arrested for their alleged role in gangraping a woman who was alone in her house at Surajpur in Chhattisgarh. She claims that the accused had come from Uttar Pradesh for work. Her husband was out in their village for employment.
The crime was committed at night when the defendant forced his entry into the house of the victim. At that time, she was alone and easy prey for the perpetrators. After the ghastly crime was committed, the perpetrator ran off, leaving the victim traumatized.

The victim was able to contact the police, who promptly filed a complaint under relevant sections of the IPC, including Section 376D (Gang Rape). A special police team was constituted to trace the culprits, and within hours, all five accused were caught. It was also evident from preliminary investigations that the culprits had come to Surajpur in search of jobs and were residents of a nearby locality.
