Tamil Nadu: Chennai and Major District Schools Closed Due to Heavy Rains
The Tamil Nadu government has announced a school holiday in Chennai and some major districts due to heavy rains that lashed the state. It is a precautionary measure which is also being followed by schools in Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Tiruvarur districts, which as per weather predictions are also expected to receive more rains.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned the nation with heavy rain in the coming two days, and the administration has put on security restrictions so that the life of teachers and students can be made safe.
People should remain indoors, do not venture out to water-logged places, and obey directives of the administration.
