From 1991 to 2012, Ratan Tata is serving the Tata Group as the chairperson. He rejoined Tata Group as interim chairman briefly in 2016 October February 2017 where during the tenure he guided it toward being one of the worlds’ powerful players making a lead toward crucial acquisition: Tetley Tea and Corus Steel and also the Jaguar Land Rover. These strategic decisions made it possible for Tata Group to take its presence around the globe, making India a house name in the global business platform.

He had initiated the production of the world’s cheapest car, Tata Nano, during his period as the chief under his management by Tata Group. Personification of innovation into a reality for the common population was Ratan Tata-humble and foresighted as well as resilient leadership- leaving an example for the rest of the leaders and entrepreneurs worldwide.

He got Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, in the year 2000, and Padma Vibhushan, its second-highest, in 2008.
