J&K Will Always Remain an Integral Part of India: Ambassador P. Harish Reacts to Pakistan’s “Unwarranted Comments” at the U.N.

India once again reiterates its firm stance on Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in the UN, with Ambassador P. Harish stating that the state “will always remain an integral part of India.” This was his response to Pakistan raising the question of Kashmir during a UN session, which had been termed as “unwarranted and baseless” by India.

India Dismisses Pakistan’s Efforts to Globalize Kashmir

At the UN session, Pakistan once again reiterated its time-honored demands on Jammu and Kashmir, attempting to internationalize the issue. But Ambassador Harish firmly rejected these remarks and accused Pakistan of repeatedly abusing international platforms for making false propaganda.

“Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will remain an integral part of India,” the Indian diplomat said. The diplomat also condemned Pakistan for its continuous interference with the matters of India and requested the neighboring country to focus on its own internal matters rather than making baseless accusations.

India Accuses Pakistan of Human Rights Abuses

In a strongly-worded retort, India not just rejected the assertions of Pakistan on Kashmir but even condemned its horrible human rights record. Ambassador Harish invoked Pakistan’s own intra-country strife on its own hand, including gagging voices in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He dared the world to bring the spotlight on Pakistan for its own deeds against its own people and not go on feeding its propaganda against India.

“Prior to leveling unfounded accusations, Pakistan must examine its own track record of human rights violations and mistreatment of minorities,” he continued.

A Long-Standing Diplomatic Dispute

The recent war of words at the UN is a continuation of the historical diplomatic competition between India and Pakistan regarding Kashmir. While India has staunchly made clear that the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 clinched its constitutional and administrative grip over J&K, Pakistan has continued to challenge the action on the world stage. India has, however, persistently closed doors on any foreign intervention, claiming that the issue is bilateral and does not warrant international meddling.

Though Pakistan has time and again tried to bring Kashmir to international discussion, India has not relented, driving away all illusions with its solid diplomatic front.

India’s Stand at the UN Remains Unwavering

Ambassador Harish’s robust counter-argument at the UN reaffirms India’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Indian government is committed to fighting misinformation and to making it very clear on J&K as follows: the land is and will forever remain an integral part of India.
