As a significant measure to bring attention to some of the unresolved agriculture issues, 101 farmers would march towards Delhi on December 14 as part of the revived ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest.
The farmers are trying to present grievances ranging from longstanding demands such as fair crop prices to loan waivers and the implementation of promised reforms. The organizers say this is the first peaceful march, “a reminder to the government to look into the promises done at previous protests.”.
This is a sequel on historical agitation by farmers leading to the roll back of contentious farm laws in 2021. The leaders have come out saying that the cause for farmers’ rights and livelihoods must still be further advocated for.
