The Congress walked out of the Rajya Sabha today protesting against the government’s alleged failure to address the concerns of farmers. Party leaders raised issues including delayed MSP payments, inadequate compensation for crop losses, and a lack of support for farmers facing climate-related challenges.
During the session, Congress leaders demanded urgent action and accused the government of neglecting the agrarian crisis. “Farmers are suffering, and the government remains indifferent. We cannot remain silent,” stated a senior Congress MP.
The government ensured that its efforts in support of the farmers continue, but the response was not enough according to the Congress, hence leaving the House. It reflects the ever-increasing pressure on the government in order to properly address rural distress.
