2 Infiltrators Killed in Gunfight Near LoC in Poonch: Army

The Indian Army has confirmed that two infiltrators were killed in an encounter with security forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector. The gunfight took place in the early hours of the morning as troops intercepted armed infiltrators trying to cross into Indian territory.

Gunfight Near LoC

According to Army officials, security forces noticed suspicious activity along the LoC and immediately carried out a swift operation. When the infiltrators were challenged, they resorted to firing, and the troops retaliated. In this gunfight, two infiltrators were neutralised.
Search operations in the region are underway, as the others are suspected not to be present. Weapons and war-like stores were recovered from the site, and it has been suspected that terrorists must have had a motive behind such activities.

HEIGHTENED SECURITY ALONG THE BORDER

The attempt at infiltration comes at a time when security is heightened along the LoC in the wake of increased cross-border activity. The authorities reaffirmed that full sanctity to the border would be given, and any attempt to disturb the peace in this region would be prevented.

OFFICIAL DECLARATION

The Indian Army remains alert and fully geared to thwart any infiltration attempts. This operation is a testament to our commitment to national security,” said an Army spokesperson.

Investigations are still underway to identify the infiltrators and their affiliations. More updates can be expected as search operations continue in the area.
