At Headingley, in the World Championship of Legends 2025 match versus Australia, AB de Villiers hammers 123 runs off 46 balls.

It’s still with AB de Villiers. The World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 right-handed batter is still going back in time. The 41-year-old, a key member of the South Africa Champions team, scored 123 runs off of 46 balls against the Australia Champions on Sunday in Headingley, Leeds, to record his second century of the competition. He batted at a strike rate of 267.39 and hit 15 fours and eight sixes during his innings. De Villiers had earlier reached the three-figure mark against the England Champions, and this was his second consecutive century.
As he hammered Brett Lee, Peter Siddle, Steve O’Keefe, John Hastings, Daniel Christian, and D Arcy Short to every corner of the field, De Villiers spared no Australian spinner. As Steve O’Keefe continued to hammer him for sixes, he saved special treatment for him.
The former South Africa captain brought up his ton in the 13th over of the innings, and he completed the milestone off 39 balls. After completing the century, de Villiers removed his helmet as he soaked in the atmosphere.
The fans of the South African champions were on their feet to celebrate the special achievement.

In the fourteenth over, Peter Siddle finally got rid of AB de Villiers. JJ Smuts and the South African champion captain shared a 187-run partnership for the first wicket. De Villiers’s effort enabled the South African champions to score 241/6 in the twenty overs that were given to them.
In order to deflate Australia, Smuts also played a knock of 85 runs. At Headingley, Peter Siddle returned for Australia with three wickets.
After dismissing Australia for 146 in 17 overs, the Proteas recorded a convincing 95-run victory, and South Africa’s score of 241/6 proved sufficient.
De Villiers’ carnage in the WCL 2025
Throughout the current T20 league, the right-hander has been in incredible form. Before this, he had unbroken knocks of 61 and 116 against the champions of England and India.
De Villiers, who gained notoriety for being a 360-degree batter, keeps proving that he is still capable. The Proteas star made a spectacular catch at the boundary ropes as part of a spectacular fielding effort during the match against India.
De Villiers scored nearly 20,000 runs in three different game types while playing for South Africa in 114 Test matches, 228 ODIs, and 78 T20Is.
He even guided the Proteas to the World Cup semifinals in 2015. Fans throughout the world were astonished when he announced his international retirement in 2021.
