Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) in a decisive six-wicket victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, placing themselves in better contention for an IPL 2025 playoff.
Delhi Capitals opened and made a total of 162/8 in 20 overs. Axar Patel, the stand-in captain in the absence of Shreyas Iyer, was the highest scorer with a forceful 42 off 32 balls, while RCB’s speed king Mohammed Siraj shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 28 runs.
Pursuing 163 for the win, RCB appeared to be on top for a majority of the innings. Veteran opener Virat Kohli led the charge with a responsible 65 off 47 balls, ably assisted by useful runs from the middle order. RCB scored the target in 18.3 overs, remaining at 165/4 with nine balls still to be bowled.
This win not only gave RCB two valuable points but also increased their net run rate as the league stage concludes.
